Physical presence is not require to apply for the renewal of a passport. However, all documents must be submitted in its original form. Saint Lucia passports are valid for five years and may take up to five working days to process.

National ID cards are valid for a maximum of 10 years and can be processed within 48 hours. A National ID card issued to an economic citizen does not have registration number. As a result, the economic citizen is not eligible to participate in the process of election. National identity cards and other clearances are issued only in person.

All applicants must participate in an in-person interview at the United States Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Following the in-person-interview, a decision will be communicated directly to the applicant. If the application is approved, passports will be retained for the affixing of the visa and then couriered to the applicant's preferred destination within 3-5 working days. Alternatively, applicants may choose to remain on the island to receive their passport in person.

Please be aware that the appointment scheduling system will only be accessible once the application has been submitted. Therefore, it is not possible to pre-book a date in advance.

It is highly recommended to begin the application process promptly in order to secure a timely scheduling of your application. This will help avoid any potential delays that may arise due to limited calendar availability.
